Carlisle United’s prolific striker Charlie Wyke has completed his transfer to League One outfit Bradford City for an undisclosed fee from the Cumbrian side, signing a two-and-a-half year deal at the Bantams.
The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals for Keith Curle’s team who sit third in the table, but a potential switch was rumoured for some time.
Bradford were on the look out for a new forward following the sale of James Hanson to Sheffield United and he becomes their third arrival at the Northern Commercials Stadium, or more traditionally Valley Parade, on deadline day.
Wyke is unavailable for his new side’s tie against Oxford United but will be ready to play for their home match with Gillingham in the league this weekend.
City also completed the double swoop of Matthew Penney and Jacob Hanson earlier in the day.
Bantams, is this a sign of your intent to finally gain promotion via the play-offs? Is he a like-for-like replacement of James Hanson? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
