Done Deal: Premier League side seal deal for Norwich City man

Norwich City have confirmed that Jacob Murphy has left Carrow Road to link up with Newcastle United in the Premier League, ending his 12-year association with the Canaries.

Murphy has come through the ranks at Norwich and made his senior debut for the club during the 2013/14 campaign against Fulham in the FA Cup.

The 22-year-old winger has gone on to make 42 senior appearances for Norwich’s first-team since his debut, also spending time on-loan away from Carrow Road.

Between 2014 and 2016, Murphy spent time out on-loan with six different Football League clubs, where he made a combined total of 78 appearances.

His most successful spell away from Norwich came during the 2015/16 campaign, when he made 42 appearances for Coventry City, scoring ten goals.

His form with Coventry earned him a chance with the Norwich first-team last season, an opportunity Murphy grabbed with both hands, excelling in the Sky Bet Championship and earning a call up to the England under-21 squad for the European Championships.

Murphy made 41 appearances across all competitions for the Canaries last season, scoring ten goals and adding a further six assists.

The 22-year-old is now set for his first opportunity in the Premier League with Newcastle, who are preparing themselves for their return to the top-flight.

Norwich fans… Are you disappointed to see Murphy leave your club? Will he be missed next season? Let us know your thoughts!
