Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United have completed a deal to sign AFC Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O’Kane on a two-year deal, the club’s official website has confirmed.
It was clear that O’Kane is unlikely to play too much for the Cherries this season – he hasn’t featured so far and the club looks like it has completed a season-long loan deal to bring Jack Wilshere in from Arsenal.
Eddie Howe’s side have also brought in Lewis Cook and Emerson Hyndman and, with a position in the Irish squad to keep, O’Kane needs to be playing regularly.
The ex-Torquay United player has made 237 appearances during his time in England, scoring 20 goals. He joins Leeds with the club in 21st place in the Championship table, and manager Garry Monk will be hoping that the 26-year-old can guide his side to the top-flight either this season or next.
But first, the man who started his career at Coleraine will have to displace Ronaldo Vieira and Liam Bridcutt from the first team, and will be looking to hit the ground running for the match with league leaders Huddersfield Town after the international break.
