Luton Town have signed Harry Cornick on a permanent deal, the club's official website reports.

Harry Cornick puts pen to paper on a two year deal at Luton Town after they paid an undisclosed fee to Bournemouth for his services.

There is an option for a further year in his deal.

The 22-year-old joined Bournemouth in 2013 from non-league outfit Christchurch.

However, he has failed to assert himself as a first team regular because of their rapid rise to Premier League stardom.

Cornick has featured just once for Bournemouth, coming on as a substitute in a 5-1 FA Cup win over Rotherham United.

Predominantly a winger, the versatile youngster is comfortable on either flank and can even play up front.

Over the last few years, Cornick has had a number of loan stints away from Bournemouth, including recent spells with Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient and Gillingham.

Luton Town have swooped to beat a League One side to his signature too.

Just yesterday, some reports were suggesting that Blackpool were in pole position to complete the signing of Harry Cornick but he has instead chosen to join Luton.

Cornick becomes Luton Town's ninth summer signing as Nathan Jones reshuffles his squad ahead of the upcoming promotion push.

The Verdict

Rather than rotting away in an academy, Harry Cornick has realised that he is unlikely to break into the first team picture at Bournemouth.

As a result, he has decided to take the mature decision to drop down the leagues and build his way back up again.

Luton have an exciting young winger with a point to prove on their books - that can only be a good thing.
