Done Deal: Port Vale sign ex-Crewe Alexandra striker

Port Vale have this afternoon confirmed the signing of former Crewe striker Ajay Leitch-Smith on their official website.
Leitch-Smith established himself as a fan favourite at Crewe where he spent six years, he enjoyed success at Crewe winning both the League Two play-offs and Football League Trophy respectively.
Leitch-Smith, 25, has been training with Port Vale following his release from Yeovil Town at the end of last season. Following an impressive pre-season, which saw him score twice, Vale manager Rob Page has opted to sign Leitch-Smith on a one-year contract.
Port Vale manager Rob Page is delighted with the signing of the forward and told the club website: “As I have said in numerous interviews, I have been very impressed with how Ajay has performed in training since pre-season started,”.
Port Vale finished 18th in League One last season, meaning Vale boss Rob Page will hope the signing of Ajay will help them to a more comfortable season this time round.
Port Vale kick of their league campaign in just under three weeks with an away trip to Leitch-Smith’s former club, Crewe.
