Port Vale have appointed Bruno Ribeiro as their new manager, according to the club’s official website.

Ribeiro has signed a three-year deal at Vale Park and will succeed Rob Page, who took over at newly promoted Northampton Town last month.

The Portuguese manager has previously been in charge of seven other clubs since 2001, with his most recent position at Academico de Viseu in Portugal, where he was in charge for four weeks during February and March this year.

Michael Brown will be Ribeiro’s Assistant Manager while former Vale midfielder Peter Farrell will be the new first team coach.

The 40-year-old had a successful career in England during his playing days and will have knowledge of the Championship, having played for Leeds United and Sheffield United in the early 90’s.

The new Port Vale boss will begin preparations over the upcoming weeks to improve on their 12th place finish in League One.
