Done Deal: Peterborough United secure deal for forward

Published

on

It has been confirmed by the club’s official website that Peterborough United have re-signed former player Paul Taylor, after he spent the last year in footballing wilderness after being released by Ipswich in 2015.

The former Rotherham, Blackburn and Charleroi frontman has put pen to paper on a one-year deal.

Taylor is keen to prove to his doubters that he still has what it takes to play to a high level, and will undergo extra sessions to improve his fitness under the guidance of Head of Sports Science Ben Mackenzie.

Taylors first spell at Peterborough was in the 2011-2012 season where he enjoyed a terrific campaign scoring 14 goals in 54 matches, which earned him a move to Ipswich.

Whilst at Ipswich, Taylor failed to make an impact and only featured in 16 games scoring one goal in a three year stay at Portman Road, he was shipped out on loan to Rotherham United and most recently Blackburn Rovers throughout that time also.

Taylor has been training with Posh since the start of pre-season and recently featured in the pre-season victory over Boreham Wood.

What do you think Posh fans, has Taylor still got what it takes? Is he the calibre of player you need? Let us know your thoughts!
