Peterborough United has swooped on Barnsley midfielder George Moncur on loan until January, according to the club’s official website.
Despite a highly anticipated arrival to Oakwell this summer, the midfielder has only featured twice for the Tykes this season and manager Paul Heckingbottom has allowed him to temporary leave the club to seek first-team football.
The 23-year-old turned down the chance to join Posh this summer to move to the Tykes from Colchester for a fee believed to be about £500,000.
The midfielder made a name for himself in League One with the Essex club, after netting 14 goals in 51 appearances, but his efforts were not enough to keep them in the division.
The arrival is expected to be greatly received among the Posh faithful, and he will link up with his new teams and is likely to go straight into the squad to face Swindon Town at the Abax stadium this weekend.
