Oldham Athletic have officially announced the loan signing of young Fulham defender Cameron Burgess until the end of the 2016/17 season.

The Australia under-23 international teams up with Steve Robinson as the summer rebuild at Boundary Park continues. After losing their manager and the vast majority of their senior players early this summer, Oldham are now looking to recruit to fill a number of places in the squad.

The towering centre back has played 4 senior games for Fulham since graduating from their academy and has had loan spells at Ross County and Cheltenham - helping the latter win the National League title last season.

The Scottish-born defender started his youth career with Celtic and played for Scotland under 19's, before switching international allegiances to Australia at under 21 and under 23 level.

The 20-year old is a left-footed centre half who can also play at left back and becomes Oldham's 10th summer signing as they prepare for next campaign with a completely different squad.

Oldham fans - what do you think? Is Burgess a good signing? Where else do you need to strengthen?

Fulham fans - is this the move that Burgess needs to progress and potentially become a future first team player for you?
