Cassidy has joined Oldham on a two-year deal

The Latics’ official website broke the news this afternoon that the talisman has signed a two-year contract with the club with the option to extend that to a third year.

The Welsh striker has been with Wolves since 2010 but failed to have the impact on the first-team he had hoped for and played just 20 times in five years with the club.

He has experienced first-team football during loan spells with Tranmere Rovers, Notts County and Southend United.

Shortly after signing for his new club he was on hand to offer a few words to the club’s official website.

He said: “I am delighted to get things finalised as it’s been in the pipeline for some while now.

“I am looking forward to this opportunity and hopefully I can bring some goals to the team.”

Oldham fans… Are you happy with the signing of Cassidy?
