Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Ward has completed a season-long loan move to Burton Albion, after falling down the pecking order at the City Ground, the club has confirmed.
The pacy forward, who featured 34 times for the Reds last season has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Philippe Montanier and he makes the short trip to local rivals Burton Albion, where he will stay until May next year.
At 30-years-old, vastly experienced Ward has plenty of years ahead of him and Burton supporters will hope to see some of the form he showed whilst playing for fellow East Midlands club Derby back in 2012.
He had a fantastic spell with the Rams and scored 34 times in 149 appearances in a five year spell but has struggled to find that form since leaving for Forest in 2015.
Burton have had a mixed start to the season having beaten the likes of Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday but they’ve conceded far to many goals, 16 in all competitions so far.
