Talented Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton has signed a new long-term contract with the East Midlands club, their official site has confirmed.
This news will be music to the ears of Nottingham Forest supporters, with Brereton already proving himself as an outstanding prospect at the club, with an impressive three goals and four assists for the side in just 18 Championship appearances.
The 18-year-old has committed his future at the City Ground until 2021, and he will be keen to continue his development at Forest going into next season.
Brereton has scored three goals since he made his debut in a 2-0 defeat at Leeds in January, with without doubt his most significant goal coming as he fired the Reds to a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa on February 4.
And, at only 18 years of age, the youngster has already made himself known across the Football League after winning the Sky Bet Championship Apprentice of the Year award, and looks destined for bigger and better things over the coming years.
Brereton becomes the second player to sign a new deal at the City Ground, with youngster Jorge Grant penning a new deal at the club a couple of weeks ago, in what appears to be a more positive outlook at the club ahead of the new Championship season, which Forest will begin at home to newly-promoted Millwall on August 5.
