Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have announced via their official website that midfielder Jorge Grant has signed a new deal to remain at the City Ground.

The 22-year-old midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal after his contract expired at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Grant played six times for the Reds last season before joining Forest’s neighbours Notts County on loan, netting six goals to help the Magpies away from the relegation zone in League Two.

The industrious midfielder is a product of the highly-rated academy at Forest and this news will no doubt please the Forest faithful who hold the club’s youth setup in high esteem.

Banbury-born Grant burst onto the scene at the City Ground during the 2014/15 campaign when he fired Forest into an unlikely lead away at Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup during his first ever start for the club.

Grant’s new contract aligns well with boss Warburton’s clear policy of allowing younger players to thrive in the first-team at Forest, although given that Grant went out on loan during the second half of last season, it wouldn’t be completely surprising if a similar deal was struck for next season.
