Nottingham Forest academy graduate Joe Worrall has signed a new contract with the club after impressing since his breakthrough to the first team squad, their official site reports.

Since making his debut at Reading in October the 20-year-old has gone from strength to strength and looks set to be a key player for the Reds in the forthcoming seasons.

Powerful in the air and strong in the tackle, Worrall has looked a real leader in the heart of the Nottingham Forest back four so far this season and he will become an important player for them if he continues to develop his game.

First team coach Gary Brazil has been a key figure in Worrall's development since his time at the club and he has been quick to reward the youngster with a new contract, after playing well since his introduction to the team.

Forest drew 0-0 with Warren Joyce's Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Saturday, and they next face a tough encounter with Chris Hughton's high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground.
