Done Deal: Nottingham Forest capture international defender on loan

Sky Bet Championship side Nottingham Forest have captured Slovenian defender Bojan Jokic on a loan for the rest of the season from Spanish club Villarreal, the club have confirmed.

The left-back joined Villarreal back in 2013 for after a four-year spell at Serie A side Chievo.

The 29-year-old has been brought in by Dougie Freedman to provide suitable cover for the club’s current left-back Dani Pinillos, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season following a knee injury.

It is yet to be confirmed that Jokic will be eligible to feature for the club in their FA Cup clash with QPR tomorrow.

The 29-year-old has gained an impressive 72 caps for his country which gives Forest boss Dougie Freedman some experience in the left-back position.

Versatile former Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has recently been providing cover in Pinillos’ position, but with Jokic being a specialist in left-back it is likely that Mancienne will move back into the middle of defence.

Forest fans…. What do you think? Do you think this is a suitable replacement until the end of the season? And who else would you like to see your club sign this month? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
