Done Deal: Norwich City secure signing of attacking midfielder

Norwich City have confirmed the signing of Barnsley’s Marley Watkins on a three-year contract, a deal that will take place following the expiry of his contract in South Yorkshire.
Watkins failed to agree fresh terms with Barnsley earlier this summer, and will become a free agent in July, which is when he will make his switch to Carrow Road.
The 26-year old will become Daniel Farke’s first summer signing for Norwich, following his appointment as head-coach last week.
The attacking midfielder scored ten goals in the Sky Bet Championship for Barnsley last season, and made 42 appearances at Oakwell, helping Paul Heckingbottom’s side to survival on their return to the second-tier.
Barnsley were reluctant to lose Watkins this summer, but announced last month that the midfielder would be leaving Oakwell after failing to agree on a new contract.
Watkins becomes the fourth high profile departure from Barnsley in the last six-months, following Sam Winnall, Conor Hourihane and James Bree out of the exit door.
