Done Deal: Norwich City complete double Dutch deadline day signing

Published

on

Norwich City completed a double swoop just before the January transfer window slammed shut.

The Canaries completed the loan signing of Mitchell Dijks and then raided fellow Championship outfit Wigan Athletic to land Yanic Wildschut on a permanent deal.

These arrivals came at a cost, however, as Sergi Canos and Robbie Brady were sold and youngster Carlton Morris was allowed to join Rotherham United on loan.

Mitchell Dijks arrived on a half season loan deal from Dutch giants Ajax and he will stay at Carrow Road until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old is a left back who has been brought in to replace Martin Olsson – who joined Swansea earlier in the window – and Robbie Brady.

The loan deal includes an option to buy the former Netherlands under-21 international.

Norwich have also signed Dijks’ fellow countryman Yanic Wildschut.

The 25-year-old is a striker-come-winger who joins for an undisclosed fee after spells with Middlesbrough and Wigan.

Norwich fans – are you pleased with this double signing? Will Dijks be a good replacement for Olsson and Brady? Is Wildschut the striker you needed? Let us know in the comments below…
