Armstrong, 18, began his youth career at Newcastle in 2006 and has been with them ever since, making his senior debut for the club in the 2013/14 season against Fulham.

He has only made 15 senior appearances for the Magpies and is yet to score for them, however his youth international career is very impressive.

Armstrong played a major role in the U17's winning the European Championships in 2014 and scored 10 goals in 12 caps for them. He has also impressed in the U18 side scoring 9 in 9 appearances.

Coventry have no doubt signed a very impressive young striker who has real potential to score a lot of goals and he certainly has shown his capability to do so with his stellar youth international scoring record, so he will be an astute addition to the squad ahead of the new campaign.

This deal benefits all parties in this deal because Armstrong himself will get more first team football experience to help develop his game, Newcastle will get a player with a lot more experience in the first team back when the loan deal ends and Coventry have got a very capable young striker who has the potential to score a lot of goals to help them in their promotion push this season.
