Sky Bet Championship side Newcastle United have confirmed on their official website the signing of Chelsea forward Christian Atsu on a loan deal which will last until the end of the season.
The deal also gives the Magpies the option to make it a permanent transfer next summer.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013, but has been shipped out on loan for each of the last four seasons.
After signing for the Blues, Atsu signed for Dutch side Vitesse, where he scored five goals in 30 appearances. The 2014/15 campaign saw the Ghana international join Everton, but he failed to solidify a place in the squad and was restricted to just five games at Goodison Park.
AFC Bournemouth, who were newly promoted to the top-flight, signed Atsu on a season-long loan deal, before being recalled by Chelsea in January and then sent out again to Spanish outfit Malaga for the remainder of last season.
Atsu has made 42 caps for his native Ghana and becomes Rafa Benitez’s 12th summer signing.
The young forward will provide stern competition to an already strong Newcastle squad that are seeking an immediate return to the top-flight.
