Done Deal: Neil Warnock completes another Cardiff City signing

Cardiff City have announced on their official website that free agent Sol Bamba has joined the club, subject to international clearance.

Sol Bamba signs a two year deal which will take him through to summer 2018.

Bamba was a free agent after parting ways with Leeds United by mutual consent this summer, despite being club captain and a first team regular the season before.

He was released from his Leeds contract the day after the transfer window closed.

The 31-year-old has had a successful career in the United Kingdom with impressive spells at Dunfermline, Hibernian and Leicester before he joined Leeds. He has also had stints in Turkey and Italy with Trabzonspor and Palermo respectively.

The towering and physical 6’3” centre half rejoins his former Leeds manager Neil Warnock, who will Bamba hoping he brings invaluable experience to a struggling Cardiff side.

The Ivory Coast international – with 44 caps to his name – becomes Warnock’s second signing already, despite the transfer window being closed. Cardiff have snapped up free agent Junior Hoilett, who worked with Warnock at QPR and have been linked with a move for Marouane Chamakh, who Warnock worked with at Crystal Palace.

Cardiff fans – what do you think? Is Bamba a good signing? What can he bring to the defence? Are you pleased Warnock is strengthening the squad or do you think it’s a sign of desperation?
