Newly-promoted Championship outfit Millwall have confirmed that midfielder Fred Onyedinma has signed a new three-year-deal at The Den.

The 20-year-old made 42 league appearances last season, as the Lions returned to the Championship via the play-offs, beating Bradford City 1-0 at Wembley in May.

As Neil Harris prepares for a crack the Championship next term, he has secured the future of the Nigerian-born midfield man, who found the net three times during last season's promotion campaign.

Onyedinma has been on the books at the London club since 2008, when he joined the club aged just twelve years old.

At youth level, he represented his district, playing alongside now Premier League stars Alex Iwobi, Joe Gomez and Kasey Palmer and surely harbours hopes of joining his boyhood contemporaries at that level one day.

His quotes upon signing his new deal would suggest that he would love nothing more than to make that step up at the Den.

He told the club's official site: "I love playing for this club and am delighted to have signed a new deal here.

"Now my focus is on continuing to work hard during pre-season so I can play as big a role as possible in the Championship for Millwall."
