Simon Grayson has extended the loan of winger Adam Reach until the end of the season

The winger will remain at Deepdale for the rest of the 2015/16 season after manager Simon Grayson agreed a deal with league leaders Middlesbrough to keep Reach at Deepdale until the end of the season.

This was all after his initial loan stint came to an end after the club’s 2-1 win over Rotherham United on Saturday,

Reach has spent the last three months at the Lancashire club after struggling to break into Aitor Karanka’s high-flying first-team set-up, who currently sit top of the division.

The 22-year-old has made 17 appearances so far for Preston, finding the net on two occasions, and will now help the club try to establish themselves in the Championship following promotion from League One last season.

Manager Grayson told the official site: ‘It is fantastic from Middlesbrough to allow Adam to stay with us. He has done really well and it is a big coup for us.

‘He played a lot of football for Middlesbrough last season and he is a good kid, who wants to learn and wants to stay here and play football.’

Reach will be delighted to see his Boro teammates flying high at the top of the Championship table although will be more focused on playing football to continue his development.

Preston’s victory over Rotherham yesterday saw them climb up to 15th in the Championship table, ten points clear of danger with 21 games left of the season.

Preston and Boro fans… What do you make of the news? Should Reach have returned to the Riverside? Or is staying at Preston for regular football the best option for him? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
