Luton Town have today completed their eighth summer signing, with 20-year-old Jake Gray arriving at Kenilworth Road from Premier League club Crystal Palace – Luton’s official Twitter account reports.
Gray, who joins The Hatters on a two-year-deal, joined Palace in 2012 from one of Luton’s current Sky Bet League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
Gray made two appearances for The Eagles’ senior side, however none of these came in the Premier League.
Although Gray has been at Palace for most of his career – he has a sizeable pedigree in the fourth tier of English football; representing Hartlepool and Cheltenham Town in the 33 games that he has played in the league.
During this time, the versatile attacking midfielder has scored 5 goals and created a further 3 – Gray looks to be an incredibly shrewd signing for Nathan Jones’ men.
When talking about the acquisition of Gray, Hatters’ boss Jones said:
‘He ticks all the boxes for us and fits into the criteria of players we want to bring to Luton. We’re delighted to have him’.
Gray also spoke about the move, saying:
‘It feels great to be here. I’m delighted to get it done and I’m looking forward to putting on the Luton Town shirt’.
So… Luton fans, what do you make of this move? Will Gray be a success? How’s Jones doing in this market?
