Done Deal: Luton announce signing of towering Premier League player

Luton Town have bolstered their League Two promotion bid with the signing of Liverpool’s hot prospect Lloyd Jones as per their official website.

Jones, a central defender, aged 22, has signed a deal at the title-chasing club that will last two and half years and keep him at the club until the end of the 2019-20 season.

He joins for an undisclosed fee. Jones will be available for selection right away and could make his debut in Saturday’s home match against Exeter City.

Jones made his senior debut in January 2015, for League Two outfit Cheltenham Town in January 2015, before ending the 2014/15 season with Accrington Stanley, where he managed to get 11 games under his belt.

In 2015-16 he signed for League One Blackpool on a season-long loan, which was cut short after 11 games due to injury, leading him to link up with the Tangerines’ divisional rivals Swindon Town to see out the season.

The Verdict

Jones looks as if he will be a handy addition to his namesake Nathan’s Luton plans and will be confident of becoming a League One player again at the end of the season.
