Done Deal: Leyton Orient confirm signing of exciting winger

Published

on

Leyton Orient confirmed on their official website that Gavin Massey will join their ranks for an undisclosed fee.

The exciting winger joins from Colchester United and becomes Andy Hessenthaler’s third summer signing, after they recently swooped for Robbie Weir and Josh Doherty.

The 23-year-old started his career at Watford before joining the U’s on a permanent deal in 2012. He has since made 158 appearances for the Essex club, scoring 20 goals. He will now make the short trip down the A12 from Colchester to Leyton Orient.

The capture of a skillful, quick winger is a real statement of intent from the East London club as they prepare to challenge for promotion back to League One this season.

Colchester on the other hand, might fear that Massey’s exit is just the start of a mass exodus as fellow star George Moncur is also set to leave the U’s this summer.

Leyton Orient fans Рwhat do you think? Is this a good signing? Who else do you want to see arrive? Colchester fans Рare you upset to see Massey leave? Who can you buy with the money from his transfer fee?
