Done Deal: Leeds United sign talented 28-year-old midfielder

Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Brentford’s highly rated box-to-box midfielder Toumani Diagouraga.
The 28-year-old dynamic midfielder came under interest from Scottish Championship side Rangers earlier in the transfer window, but has opted to join Steve Evans’ Leeds United side on a two-and-a-half year contract, after a fee was agreed last week.
The central midfielder will add an element of grit and steel to the Leeds United midfield, and is likely to partner Liam Bridcutt at the heart of the midfield.
The Elland Road outfit currently sit in 16th place in the Sky Bet Championship, after an inconsistent season, which has seen them amass 35 points from 28 league games this season.
Speaking to LUTV about the move, Diagouraga said: “It came about very fast.
“Once I was aware Leeds were interested and a bid had been accepted, I came straight up here and made it happen.
“It was a difficult decision to leave Brentford but I felt the time was right for me to take on a new challenge.
“It’s a massive club with a massive fan base. It’s a club that belongs in the Premier League and one that should really be fighting for promotion.
The Yorkshire club face Brentford in their next Sky Bet Championship fixture, with Diagouraga set to face his old club for the first time.
