The highly-rated right-back has been a main feature for the development squad and has today put pen-to-paper on a one year deal, having successfully passed through the academy.

Even though staff at the famous Leeds academy are being let go, the club is still able to produce top quality talent that will aid the first team once again.

The likes of Lewis Cook, Alex Mowatt, Sam Byram and Charlie Taylor all came through the same system and last season were stand out performers as Leeds secured Championship status.

Coyle will now be hoping to emulate his fellow academy graduates and challenge for a first team spot within Uwe Rosler's new Leeds side.

Coyle will be joining the likes of Chris Dawson, Kalvin Phillips, Lewis Walters and Alex Purver as they look to be the next break out star in a long list of players that have gone on to be a major success including the likes of Aaron Lennon, Danny Rose, Fabian Delph and James Milner.

The 19-year-old is highly rated among staff at Thorp Arch and is widely expected to make his debut for the club in preseason, having started training amongst the first team players since they returned for training.

Predominantly a right-back, Coyle will come in handy as Uwe Rosler looks set to improve his squad in other positions and could be set to challenge Scott Wootton for a starting place, with Sam Byram pushing up to the right midfield role and Gaetano Berardi being a success in the left back role in the second half of the season.

Coyle could be a surprise inclusion is this Friday's friendly against Harrogate Town, a club he started last season on loan at before suffering a major injury.

Coyle agreeing a new deal at Elland Road continues the success of the academy staff as his signing is the eighth of the summer to continue their progress at Leeds United. Other players to sign on for longer stays are Alex Purver, Kalvin Phillips, Lewis Walters, Tyler Denton, Luke Parkin, Jake Skelton and Eric Grimes, who have all agreed new deals at the club.

With so many clubs failing to meet demands of Home Grown status within their squads, owner Massimo Cellino should see this as the perfect eye opener. With so many players looking ready to burst into the first team, surely the club should be nurturing the players and rewarding the staff who continue this conveyor belt of talent, not sacking and demeaning them.
