Leeds United have signed QPR goalkeeper Robert Green on a 12 month contract, reports the club’s official website.
The 36-year-old has joined the Yorkshire club on a free transfer after being released from the West London side.
The goalkeeper was among a number of players that was offloaded by QPR due to their high wage demand and he will now make the move up north.
The former England international is Leeds’ fourth summer signing as they look to re-build their squad under Garry Monk.
QPR avoided playing the former England goalkeeper due to him activating a cause in his contract beyond 2016 had he played more than 30 times this season.
The goalkeeper is expected to challenge Leeds’ current number one Marco Silvestri and provide experienced competition for the Italian, something which was lacking last season.
Green will link with his new mates ahead of their Irish pre-season tour where they will meet Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne next week.
