Done Deal: League Two side secure promising Premier League defender on loan

Sky Bet League Two side Wycombe Wanderers have swooped to secure the services of Southampton central defender Jason McCarthy, the club have confirmed via their official website.

Ainsworth has added to his side
The 19-year-old joins on an initial one-month loan and comes with a glowing reference from his parent club.
The strong central defender was a regular for the Saints’ Under-21 side last season and lifted the Under-21 Premier League Cup during the campaign.
He does actually boast a first-team appearance for the Saints and it came during Boxing Day of last season as a substitute against Crystal Palace.
Wycombe currently sit in sixth place in League Two and will be desperate to finish in the top three this season after play-off heartache during last season, where they were beaten finalists.
McCarthy is expected to go straight into the Wycombe starting line-up this Saturday when they travel to Stevenage on Saturday afternoon.
Wycombe fans… What do you know about McCarthy? How would you assess the club’s start to the season? Can you finish in the top three this season? Let us know below!
