Barnet boss Martin Allen has pulled off a coup by signing Aaron McLean to bolster his forward line, the club’s official website has confirmed.
McLean was a free agent following his release from Bradford City at the end of last season and Allen has swooped quickly to secure one of his first choice striking targets.
London-born McLean has to be seen as a really shrewd signing for a League Two outfit given his background of scoring goals at Championship level and also playing in the Premier League with Hull City.
Something of a Posh legend he was part of the side that secured back-to-back promotions from League Two into the Championship under the management of Darren Ferguson and scored 82 times for the club in total.
McLean will offer a big boost to the Bees as they look to make progress after they picked up their first points of the season last night in a 2-0 home victory over Northampton Town – the club had lost both of their opening games.
Barnet fans… Are you happy with this signing? What will McLean add that you don’t already have? What other areas does ‘Mad-dog’ still need to strengthen? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!]
