Done Deal: Ipswich Town sign striker

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Reading’s Dominic Samuel, report’s the club’s official website.

Samuel joins Ipswich on a loan deal until the end of the season, as he looks for regular first-team football.

The striker has made 14 appearances for the Royals this season, scoring two goals in that time.

Reading boss Jaap Stam, whose side sit third in the Sky Bet Championship table, has preferred Yann Kermorgant as his striker for large parts of the season.

Samuel becomes the sixth player to join Ipswich this season, as Mick McCarthy looks to bolster his squad in a bid to stay away from a relegation battle.

Ipswich are currently 17th in the Championship table, ten points outside the relegation zone.

McCarthy’s side suffered a heavy defeat to Derby County last night, and will be looking for a response on Saturday as they face Samuel’s parent club Reading.

The 22-year old is ineligible to face Reading at the weekend, but could make his debut against Aston Villa on February 11th.

Ipswich fans… Are you pleased with the addition of Samuel to your squad? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
