League One side Rotherham United have confirmed on their official website the signing of Ipswich Town striker Kieffer Moore on loan for the entirety of the 2017/18 campaign.
The 24-year-old only moved to Portman Road back in January of this year after a short stint at Forest Green Rovers, and mustered 11 appearances for Mick McCarthy’s men to help them to an 18th place finish in the Championship.
Moore failed to net in any of those though, and with all 11 appearances being substitute ones, it’s clear that he’s not atop of the pecking order at the Suffolk-based club just yet.
And that is why it’s hardly surprising that the Tractor Boys have officially allowed the forward to move to Paul Warne’s Rotherham on loan for the duration of the upcoming season.
The Millers finished bottom of the Championship last term with just 23 points from their 46 games, but with Moore becoming their sixth signing of the summer already, it’s evident that manager Warne is looking to overhaul his squad in a bid for an immediate return to the second tier.
And loaning Moore in could be of huge benefit to both the player and the club, with the 24-year-old having scored 12 goals in 37 games at National League level, yet in need of regular football to really make the step up to Football League level.
And he may well begin making huge strides at the New York Stadium next term.
