Done Deal: Ipswich confirm permanent deal defender



Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of Paul Digby on their official website.

The young defender joins the Tractor Boys on a permanent deal following a loan spell at Portman Road last season.

Digby graduated from the Barnsley academy and played 21 times for them before making a loan switch to Ipswich in January 2016.

He played one league game and two FA Cup games for the Championship side and now becomes a permanent addition to the side.

21-year-old Digby is a towering centre half who stands at 6’4” and is commanding in the air. nder-20 level.

Digby becomes Ipswich’s second central defensive signing of the summer window following the arrival of Portsmouth’s Adam Webster in an exchange deal seeing Matt Clarke join Pompey.

Digby will be hoping to make an immediate impact and push for a first team spot in Mick McCarthy’s side.
