Done Deal: Hull City seal transfer agreement with 24-year-old

Hull City have today confirmed the arrival of Genoa winger David Milinkovic for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The Frenchman becomes Nigel Adkins’ second signing of the summer, joining Eric Lichaj at the KCOM Stadium.

“David is a talented, skilful player and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring him to Hull City when we know that a number of other clubs were also looking to sign him,” Adkins told the club’s official website.

“He enjoyed a very good loan spell with Hearts last season and he will add a further goal threat and creativity to our squad.”

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Jam Tarts where he scored five goals and assisted six more in 22 appearances.

He is a much needed arrival at the Yorkshire club with the Tiger’s squad becoming incredibly threadbare recently.

So far they have seen ten players leave the club including Allan McGregor, Max Clarke, David Meyler, Michael Dawson and Sebastian Larsson who all left on free transfers.

Hull came very close to dropping out of the second tier entirely last season.

Having spent a large chunk of the season in the relegation zone the Tigers finished just seven points above Barnsley, and the fans will be hopeful of a more successful season.

The verdict

This is a good signing on paper although we will not truly know until he has played.

He has shown he is capable of doing it in Scotland, but that does not always equate to success in the Championship.

It will be a big boost to the fans regardless to see their club bringing attacking talent in.
