Hull City have confirmed on the club's official website that Callum Burton has left the club on loan.

Goalkeeper Callum Burton is heading out on loan to Salford City on a short term deal.

The young stopper will be sent to non-league outfit Salford City on a month's loan deal, which will see him stay at his new club until early December.

Burton joins Salford City with his new club sitting at the summit of the National League North - the sixth tier of English football.

He will hope to play a part in their promotion campaign as Salford City aim to play National League football next season, which is just one division below the Football League.

Burton joined Hull City in the summer from League One high flyers Shrewsbury Town but is yet to make his first team debut for the Tigers and he will be given the chance to gain some experience on loan.

The 21-year-old has only ever played one match for Shrewsbury Town in the Football League and he has had previous stints on loan with non-league sides Southport, Nuneaton and Telford.

Callum Burton could make his debut for Salford City today when they take on Alfreton Town in a home clash.

The Verdict

This works for all parties as Burton needs the experience.

Ideally, he would be sent out on loan to a League One or League Two club but Football League sides are not allowed to bring in loan players until January so a one-month loan to a non-league team is the best available option.

With first team chances looking slim at Hull right now, Burton can gain valuable experience of senior football at Salford.
