It has been officially confirmed by the club that Huddersfield Town have secured the services of Croatian midfielder Ivan Paurevic from the Russian side FC Ufa.
Huddersfield Town’s manager David Wagner had previously worked with Ivan Paurevic at Borussia Dortmund II and Wagner has now brought the Croatian midfielder to West Yorkshire.
The 6 ft 4″ midfielder has the flexibility of being capable of playing in both the central defensive midfield role, but also has the versatility to be able to play in the centre of defence too.
Pauveric has both experience in Germany and in Russia’s top flight and played a pivotal role in Ufa’s survival in Russia’s top division with Pauveric’s two goals on the final day of the season rescuing Ufa from relegation.
Paurevic is likely to be deployed in the centre of midfield providing competition for Dean Whitehead, and he could potentially forge an excellent partnership with young Danish midfielder, Philip Billing.
It appears that the Terriers manager is looking to use his contacts across Europe to help strengthen Huddersfield’s squad and it appears that they are looking to do their transfer business early.
