League One high-fliers Gillingham have drafted in Brighton defender Adam Chicksen on a one month loan deal, it has been announced on the Seagulls’ official website.
The 24-year-old has had numerous loan spells since he joined Brighton in 2013, struggling to break into the first team at the Amex Stadium.
His most recent loan was a stint with Leyton Orient earlier this season, where he made six appearances for the League Two side.
Chicksen has had a spell at the Priestfield Stadium before, when he played three times for the Gills back in November 2014.
Things are very different in Kent this time around, as Justin Edinburgh seeks to steer his side into the Championship this season.
It is an important week ahead for Gillingham’s season as the transfer window reaches his conclusion.
They currently sit in 2nd place in League One after a fantastic season so far, and not only will they seek to strengthen their promotion push with addition such as Chicksen, they will also be keen to ensure they keep hold of their best players.
Bradley Dack is the subject of a great deal of Championship interest, so Edinburgh will pray he is still a Gillingham player when the window slams shut.
