Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta has returned to the capital after his loan at Middlesbrough was terminated, the club’s offficial website has confirmed.
The man from Venezuela has made 13 appearances this season, helping ‘Boro to second in the Sky Bet Championship. He should be pleased with his exploits whilst on Teeside, but will be disappointed that he couldn’t nail down a regular starting place whilst playing for Aitor Karanka’s side.
The centre-back, who can also play left-back, will fancy his chances at being Slavisa Jokanovic’s number one when he returns to Fulham.
Amorebieta signed for the Cottagers from Athletic Bilbao in 2013, where he made 195 league appearances for the Spanish club.
He has four appearances for the Spanish U19 team, as well as four for the Basque County. However, he has most prominently figured for the Venuzelan national side, with 15 appearances.
