Fulham have won the race to sign Sheyi Ojo.

Fulham FC's official website has confirmed that Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo joins the club on a season long loan deal.

The Cottagers have won the race for Sheyi Ojo with a number of clubs, including Premier League side Newcastle United and Championship rivals Middlesbrough, chasing his signature.

Liverpool have sanctioned a loan deal for the former MK Dons youth product after last season was blighted with injury problems.

This will be the 20-year-old's third stint in the Championship on loan.

In the 2014/15 season, Ojo played eleven times for Wigan Athletic in the second tier.

Then the following year, the winger played nineteen games for Wolves, scoring three goals.

The England under-20 international - who was part of this summer's World Cup winning squad - has also played thirteen times for Liverpool in total, scoring the one goal.

Able to play on either wing or behind the striker, the versatile attacker is highly regarded by Liverpool and will be looking to impress at Fulham on loan.

The West London outfit have swooped to sign Sheyi Ojo to bolster their options going forward as they look to mount another promotion challenge this term.

The Verdict

Following the news that Lucas Piazon had suffered a broken leg in midweek, it was vitally important that Fulham got this deal over the line.

The Cottagers needed to replace the Brazilian's goals from the attacking midfield regions and Sheyi Ojo poses that sort of threat.

With a host of clubs interested in the Liverpool man, Fulham have done extremely well to get this deal over the line.

Ojo should thrive in the Championship now that his injury woes are behind him and he has a point to prove to Liverpool if he wants to break into their side in the 2018/19 season.
