League One Gillingham have completed the signing of former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara on a two-year deal, the club have announced on Twitter.
O’Hara has had spells with Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and Wolves in the top flight in England before spending time with Blackpool and Fulham further down the Football League in recent years.
O’Hara has been without a club since being released from Craven Cottage earlier this summer and they have lofty ambitions of their own after a solid start to their campaign.
They’ve beaten Southend 3-1 on two occasions already, once in the League and once in the EFL Cup as they look to mount a promotion challenge of their own.
And manager Justin Edinburgh will hope the former England U21 international can bring a healthy dose of experience to his side, who have already added the likes of Billy Knott, Scott Wagstaff and Mark Byrne this summer.
