Sky Bet League One strugglers Fleetwood Town have confirmed on their official website the signing of Sheffield United midfielder Stefan Scougall on loan for one month.
Scougall has been out of favour for much of this season, making only a handful of appearances after a series of niggling injuries and changes to formations saw him struggle to make the Blades’ starting eleven.
The Scot has now joined the Cod Army on an initial 28 day loan deal, and made his debut as a second half substitute in the 2-0 home defeat to Barnsley yesterday.
Signed from Livingston, Scougall became a regular for the Blades under manager Nigel Clough, where he often played in a number 10 role, providing support for lone striker Jose Baxter.
He scored the second goal at Wembley to put the Blades 2-1 up against Hull City, and put them within a whisker of reaching the FA Cup final.
He has fallen out of favour under Nigel Adkins though, and he adds to an ever-growing list of departures from Bramall Lane as he seeks first team football. He will join up with fellow Blade loanee Bob Harris, who is with Fleetwood until the end of the season.
