Sky Bet Championship side Derby County have confirmed on their official website the signing of midfielder Julien De Sart on loan until the end of the season from Premier League outfit Middlesbrough.

The 22-year-old has found chances limited at the Riverside with just one appearance this campaign, coming in the EFL Cup defeat to Fulham, and has subsequently been allowed to depart the club on a temporary basis.

De Sart moved to England on transfer deadline last February from Belgium for an undisclosed fee but two games is all the defensive midfielder has had the opportunity to play in since then.

Derby County currently sit just outside the Championship play-offs and the acquirement of Julien De Sart is sure to strengthen their push for the top six.

Manager Steve McClaren said, speaking to the Rams' official website, ''“He is a talented player with plenty of potential and, having made the move from Belgium, he has been in English football for almost a year now. I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Derby have also confirmed that De Sart will be available for their FA Cup Third Round encounter against West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

Rams supporters, are you happy with the signing? Can the midfielder help your promotion bid? Is he first-eleven quality?
