Sky Bet League Two outfit Hartlepool United have bolstered their squad with the signing of young Crystal Palace midfielder Jake Gray on loan for four weeks, the club have confirmed.
The youngster has risen through the youth ranks at the Eagles following a move from Wycombe Wanderers as a 15-year-old and is highly-rated by the coaching staff at Selhurst Park.
The impression he has made with the club’s Under-21’s has seen Gray feature twice for the Eagles’ first-team, with both of his appearances coming in the Capital One Cup last season.
The 19-year-old will now travel north to cut his teeth in the Football League with Ronnie Moore’s team who have been in the market for a midfielder for some time.
The Pools are dangerously close to the League Two relegation zone and currently occupy 19th position.
Moore will be hoping Gray can assist the team in climbing up the table and at the same time enhance his own glowing reputation within the game.
