Coventry City have confirmed the signing of Reise Allassani on the club's official website.
Allassani joins from non-league side Dulwich Hamlet for an undisclosed fee and puts pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the Ricoh Arena.
The versatile forward plays predominantly as an attacking midfielder but is also able to play as a central striker or on either wing.
After netting 19 goals for non-league Dulwich this season, Allassani has caught the eye of a number of Football League admirers but Coventry have won the race to sign him.
The 22-year-old was attracting attention in the January transfer window but Dulwich held firm and he helped them win promotion to the National League South via the play-offs.
The former Crystal Palace youngster was once rated very highly at Selhust Park but he had to drop down to non-league after suffering a serious knee injury.
Allassani has now taken the hard route back to the professional leagues after some exciting displays at Dulwich.
The former England youth international is now aiming to get his career back on track and he joins an exciting attacking midfield and strike force of Marc McNulty, Maxime Biamou, Jodi Jones and Tony Andreu.
Allassani is Coventry's second summer signing after they snapped up Zain Westbrooke from Brentford.
The Verdict
This is always a risky move given his injury concerns and his lack of game time at this level but this could just turn out to be a very good addition.
At Dulwich, Allassani looked head and shoulders above anyone in the division; he has a great touch, impressive movement, quick feet and a real eye for goal, making him an all-round threat despite his diminutive frame.
Let's just say that having options of McNulty, Biamou, Jordan Ponticelli, Allassani and potentially Jonson Clarke-Harris mean that Coventry are much better equipped than their options of Dan Agyei, Stuart Beavon, Kwame Thomas and Andre Wright last term.
