Coventry City have announced on their official website the signing of Dagenham and Redbridge teenager Jodi Jones on an initial emergency loan.
Jones initially arrives at the Ricoh Arena in a temporary measure due to the transfer window being closed, but looks set to join in a permanent capacity, with a deal already in place for the summer.
Jones has been a wanted man in the Football League after impressing scouts whilst playing for the struggling Daggers, but Coventry have won the race for his signature, reinvesting their money from the James Maddison sale in January.
Tony Mowbray said on the signing: “We’re delighted to get this deal over the line and I’m looking forward to working with Jodi. He is a player we’ve tracked for some time and we’ve been really impressed by his performances for Dagenham and Redbridge at such a young age.”
“He’s got great potential and we’ll be looking to develop that over his time with the club like we’ve been able to do with out young players this season.”
Jones is expected to spend the majority of the next few weeks playing under-21 footbal as the senior side seek promotion back to the Championship. A poor run of form has seen the Sky Blues slip out of the play-off positions, but with 10 games to go, it is still all to play for.
