Done Deal: Coventry City snap up Championship defender

Coventry City have confirmed on their official website that they have signed Farrend Rawson on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Rawson joins from Championship play-off hopefuls Derby County on a half-season loan deal.

Farrend Rawson is yet to make his Derby debut but featured in all three of the under-23 side’s Checkatrade Trophy matches this year.

The 6’4” centre half has previously had two loan spells at Rotherham and brings experience of Championship football to the table for the Sky Blues.

Coventry are in deep trouble in League One as they currently sit rock bottom.

Russell Slade confirms that the signing of the 20-year-old concludes their defensive recruitment, after he added Nathan Clarke from Bradford and Kevin Foley from Charlton in January.

Rawson becomes Coventry’s fifth January signing with Callum Reilly and Stuart Beavon also arriving this month.

Coventry are expected to sign Rawson’s Derby teammate Charles Vernam later in the week.
