Recently-relegated League Two outfit Chesterfield have confirmed on their official website the double signing of defender Scott Wiseman and goalkeeper Joe Anyon.
The duo come from third-tier side Scunthorpe United, who narrowly missed out on the Play-Off Final, and have been allowed to let their contracts expire at Glanford Park – putting pen-to-paper on two-year deals at the Spireites.
Wiseman began his career at Hull City before leaving them in 2007 to join Darlington. Since then the 31 year-old has enjoyed spells at Rochdale, Barnsley and Preston North End prior to moving to Scunthorpe.
Anyon, on the other hand, kicked started playing at Port Vale, racking up over 100 appearances for the Valiants. He departed them in 2010 and signed for Lincoln City, spending two years there before arriving at Shrewsbury Town and Crewe, following that was a switch to the Irons in 2015.
The acquisitions of Scott Wiseman and Joe Anyon are Chesterfield’s second and third signings of the transfer window, it was confirmed yesterday they had agreed a deal with Bradley Barry.
