Sky Bet League One side Chesterfield have this afternoon confirmed on their official website the signing of Burnley defender Tom Anderson on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Clarets since turning professional in 2012, and has now re-joined the Spireites for a second spell at the club, having spent the second half of last season at the Proact Stadium.
He made 18 appearances for Chesterfield after joining on loan in February, and helped Danny Wilson’s side to an 18th place finish in League One, seven points clear of the bottom four.
Anderson had many loan spells at Non-league clubs in the earlier phase of his career, with Barrow, Hyde, Halifax Town, and Lincoln City all benefitting from the youngster’s services between 2012 and 2014.
An improved spell at Lincoln, where he netted his first professional goal, earned him a move to League Two outfit Carlisle United in October 2014, where he played nine times.
Chesterfield fans will hope that Anderson can help to maintain the club’s solid start to the new League One season.
Wilson’s men have picked up seven points from their first five matches, and sit tenth in the table.
