Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has joined Charlton Athletic on loan for the rest of the 2015-16 season, the Sky Bet Championship club have confirmed on their official website.
The 23-year-old was due to spend the campaign with Dutch side Ajax, but has struggled for playing time with the Eredivisie club, making just four appearances.
Sanogo returned from the Netherlands to meet with the Addicks this afternoon, resulting in his stay at Ajax being cut short.
The Frenchman joined the Gunners in 2013 from Auxerre, and had a loan spell with Crystal Palace last season, featuring ten times for Alan Pardew’s Eagles.
The forward has not been a prolific goalscorer since his move to England, but impressed as a teenager in France, scoring 11 times in 21 league appearances with Auxerre.
Sanogo is the second Arsenal loanee in as many seasons at the Valley, following Francis Coquelin’s spell with the club during the 2014-15 campaign.
Charlton have struggled to score goals this season, leaving the side 23rd in the table with just one win in their last 12 league outings.
