Zakarya Bergdich is the latest to arrive at the Valley, having joined from Spanish club Real Valladolid for an undisclosed fee.

The Moroccan left-back will wear the red shirt of the Addicks for the next four seasons, and he is expected to join the team’s training after undergoing his medical.

The defender made 17 appearances for Valladolid in the first half of last season, before spending the second half on loan at Italian side Genoa - the defender also has 17 international caps with Morocco.

Charlton boss Guy Luzon said to the club's official site: “We identified Zakarya as a player who possesses a lot of pace on the left side of the pitch, and I'm very pleased that we are able to confirm him as a Charlton player.

"He is an exciting footballer who will excite the Charlton fans and while with Genoa last year he played against some of the hardest opponents in European football."

The latest addition takes the number of players signed by the London club this summer to six. Those include Patrick Bauer, El-Hadji Ba, Simon Makienok, Ahmed Kashi as well as Ceballos.

Luzon has made it clear that his team will be heavily involved in the market this summer, declaring that more players are expected to join the club this summer, as they aim for a higher finish in the Championship.

The latest signing will not be able to feature in this evening’s game against Maidstone United, but he might still have a chance to play in the remaining fixtures ahead of the new season.
